The white cliffs of Dover

AUTUMN WINTER | 2003 - Portobello Road to Elle Decoration.

"My collections in the early days often held a quintessentially British charm. I was living in London and would scour Portobello Road market for inspiration. I have rooms, cupboards and drawers full of antique textiles from which I pull my inspiration for season after season. The multicoloured rose print of this collection was inspired by a tattered curtain remnant. Made up of 12 to 13 colours, we created this print which was to be hand screened - each screen laid by hand, a metre of fabric taking hours to print. The same rose design I later transposed into a rug which I created for The Rug Company. Funnily enough, this rug was to be awarded by Elle Decoration Russia's Floor Covering of the Year!"

SPRING SUMMER | 2004 - Roll out the Royce

"My favourite shoot of all time, with Lord Byron's great-granddaughter Emily as our model, overlooking the white cliffs of Dover, sneaking shots in Derek Jarman's estate and cruising in the white Rolls Royce brought in especially for the shoot - we couldn’t go wrong. It was a collection that brought together the world of MP: WOMENSWEAR, HOME and GIRL. What began as an accessories collection of bags and scarves had organically evolved to become much more."
