AUTUMN WINTER | 2001 - The Blue Note
Winter 2001 and memories of shooting in my bedroom, once the infamous Blue Note club perched above Hoxton Square in Shoreditch, East London. Where I had once danced was now my home. Afro and sequins, perhaps this was me channeling the late-night frivolity of the club that I had inherited as my new London pad.
SPRING SUMMER | 2002 - Ann Shore
Ann Shore, a London stylist for the likes of Vogue Italia and British Vogue was also the founder of the most inspiring market-style emporium in Spitalfields, London, the boutique/gallery called STORY. With her partner, Lee Hollingworth, she curated art, jewellery, and vintage and new clothing creating a magical space like no other. I was fascinated and in awe of her style - watching her from a distance before summoning the courage to say hello. She walks to the beat of her own drum - embodying her own distinct sense of aesthetic - a tribal romanticism unswayed by the fickleness of fashion. I was so privileged to collaborate with her on many shoots. She lent her eye, props, and vision to present our Summer '02 collection displaying the pieces as delicate little treasures and honing in on the details with shots that captured the intricate beauty of the embellishments.
Love this collection Afro & Sequins!!!!
