In 2000, Megan's collection of scarves were eponymous worldwide for their artisanal hand work and were celebrated accordingly. Working with kurigers ( embroiderers ) who were the most skilled in their profession, Megan built the signature of her brand forging their skills with her design aesthetic. The scarf was seen as a perfect canvas to showcase their refined handwork. This scarf is representative of that time. Upon a cherry red silk satin, intricate ari stitchwork creates the multi-colored floral motifs that have drawn inspiration from Megan's collection of Japanese kimonos. The ultra long tassels add decadence to this piece. Wear it knotted at the neck ( think Marianne Faithful) or long and loose to create a more dramatic statement.
